On October 7, 2023, Israel was attacked and our people suffered unthinkable loss and pain. Our world was shaken to the core, and our hearts were broken, yet we did not stand still.
Since the tragedies of October 7th, communities are searching for leaders to step up, take action and ensure the safety of Israel and Jews around the world. The Momentum Fellowship is designed to give you timely Jewish wisdom and leadership skills to help you lead your community effectively at this time.
Momentum’s leadership program is a catalyst to support Momentum’s Partner Organizations by empowering its leaders with practical leadership skills and knowledge to advance their organizational mission through communal leadership.
The leadership skills that our Fellows will learn are not stand-alone tools. Everything they learn, will be infused and framed with Jewish wisdom. Our partnership and intimate understanding of the global Jewish climate and the communal work our Fellows do, allows us to design a program based on the specific needs of a communal leader. Based on this knowledge, our content of the Fellowship has been adjusted to meet those needs.
The Momentum Fellowship – is a four-month leadership program rooted in Jewish wisdom and values, facilitated by Momentum educators and leadership experts. The Fellowship experience includes one in-person summit, six bi-monthly virtual workshops, an opportunity for personalized coaching for each organization, focused on strategic impact planning and an end of Fellowship evaluation.
At the completion of the Fellowship, Fellows will be awarded a certificate in Communal Leadership.
Who is the Momentum Fellowship for?
Momentum welcomes everyone interested in learning and growing towards being a communal leader and making an impact.
Fellows are individuals who are interested in stepping up in their communities as well as people from organizations who have or have not partnered with Momentum before on the Yearlong Journey. Fellows come together to form a local cohort focused on growing skills and tools to strengthen their own local community. Cohorts range from 2-10 people.
Building a cohort for this leadership journey will multiply your impact for the goals your organizations want to achieve. Women from your Jewish community or organization who are passionate about strengthening your community and are eager to develop and grow themselves are the perfect candidates for your cohort.
Momentum’s leadership definition
Communal leadership is inspiring and mobilizing people to take collective action to positively impact the Jewish people and beyond through Jewish values.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I’ve already participated in the Fellowship program?
That’s ok! We welcome you back this year, as the content for the summit and cohort sessions have been adjusted and refined to meet the needs of our community.
How do I put a cohort together?
If you are a Community Leader, look for a diverse group of past participants who have expressed interest in helping with programming and emerging leaders that you think will be able to support executing your organization’s vision.
If you are a lay leader who is not connected to a partner organization, choose women who can create a diverse group of thinkers and doers. Think holistically. The cohort should consist of women who have different skillsets.
What’s the time commitment?
The Fellowship has two elements in it – the Summit and online learning
The summit spans three days – Sunday through Tuesday
The online program is comprised of six sessions, 90 minutes each, held twice a month for 90 minutes each time.
The online program will begin two weeks after the Summit ends.
At the completion of this two-step process, Fellows will be awarded a certificate in Communal Leadership.
Community Leaders are also awarded 5 hours of 1:1 coaching to support their strategic planning for the community.
Over all, this Fellowship program is 4 months long.
Can I come on my own?
Our leadership model is based on community. If you are interested in the Fellowship, we encourage you to come with at least one more person. We believe that if you work together, the impact is exponential.
How is this program unique to other Jewish leadership programs?
This Fellowship focuses on COMMUNAL leadership. The leadership skills that our Fellows will learn are not stand-alone tools. Everything they learn, will be infused and framed with Jewish wisdom. Our partnership and intimate understanding of the communal work our Fellows do, allows us to design a program based on the specific needs of a communal leader.
What is the cost?
Momentum believes in creating strong communities. We value the partnerships with our global community and want to invest in you.
This four-month program includes a three day Summit (includes hotel and food), Six 60-minute online cohort sessions for $360.
Community Leaders will also receive five 1:1 coaching sessions with top organizational coaches.
The full value of this program is $3,725 for Community Leaders and $2,925 for Lay Leaders.
How is this different than a retreat?
Leadership courses are widely available through countless organizations and educational institutions, and costs are wide ranging too.
Learning from Community leaders focus groups and survey responses, we’ve zeroed in on topics, learning formats and speakers that resonate most with our target audience.
We launched our first 3 Fellowship programs in 2023 and learnt tremendously from those as to what community leaders and lay leaders, growing strong communities need.
Our unique value in this practical Fellowship is enhancing leadership skills through a Jewish lens and keeps the program true to who Momentum is.
This is a very different product than the retreat. This is a leadership focused opportunity to grow your impact in the community by learning and practicing leadership tools and methodologies. The focus is the community, not the individual.
You will meet leaders from different Jewish organizations at the Summit and build deeper relationships during the online cohort sessions by sharing best practices, solve problems and strengthening your sisterhood.
How do I register?
The registration is a one-step process. Community Leaders, Madrichot and cohort members will need to register individually.
